LUBANG VINCENT LOSIO

Founder and Managing Partner

Vincent is a Founder and Managing Partner of the firm. He obtained a Masters of Business Administration (MBA), majoring in Project Planning and Management, from Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune, a Deemed to be University, Pimpri, Pune – 411018, India in August 2022, a Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre, Uganda in 2017, and a Bachelor of Laws from Makerere University, Uganda in 2015. Vincent is an advocate of the High Court of Uganda and all Courts subordinate thereto, and also an advocate of the High Court of South Sudan and all Courts subordinate thereto. He is member of the East African Law Society (EALS), Uganda Law Society (ULS), and South Sudan Bar Association (SSBA). Prior to his founding the firm, he has had an over four (4) years working experience in Uganda (as a Legal Associate), with Shonubi, Musoke & Co. Advocates a top tier law firm which has over 35 years of legal service provision with excellence in Uganda. During his tenure at the said firm, Vincent had a successful legal career. He liaised as the desk officer for many big corporate clients like MTN Uganda Limited, I & M Bank Uganda Limited (formerly Orient Bank Uganda Limited), NCBA Bank Uganda Limited (formerly NC Bank Uganda Limited), Umeme Limited, and Kampala District Land Board. Vincent specialises in Litigation, Alternative Disputes Resolution, and Corporate and Commercial law practice. He has over the years of practice advised many local, regional, and international organizations, corporations, government entities/institutions, and companies in different legal areas including; general business incorporation and setups, business restructuring, regulatory compliances, debt recovery, procurement and disposal procedures, land transactions, and employment related matters, among others. As a core litigation personnel in the firm, he represented both individual and corporate clients in specialized Tribunals like the Electricity Disputes Tribunal, the Labour Court, Utilities Court, and regular Courts of Judicature from the Magistrate Court to the Supreme Court, East African Court of Justice (EACJ), litigating electricity disputes, insurance and insolvency claims, employment related claims, and complex commercial and land disputes among other legal claims with huge monetary amounts. He has also advised, negotiated, drafted, reviewed, and successfully concluded multibillion land transactions and other contractual dealings, thus earning him an ingrained knowledge in his areas of speciality. Vincent has also over the years developed profound interest and gained specialized knowledge in banking and finance, corporate, and infrastructure finance, insolvency law practice, insurance law, environmental law, energy and oil and gas, and infrastructure development. He has an enthusiasm and high drive in mediation and arbitration, and has on several occasions successfully mediated complex disputes in specialized forums to fruition. Further, Vincent is knowledgeable in Project Planning and Management. As such, he has an untapped knowledge in offering consultancy services in the area. Vincent is the head of Disputes Resolution/Litigation, Banking and Finance, and Energy, Oil and Gas, and Infrastructure Departments of the Firm.

PITIA EMMANUEL LOSIO

Co-Founder and Partner

Emmanuel is a Co-Founder and Partner of the firm. He obtained a Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre, Uganda in 2022, and a Bachelor of Laws from Makerere University, Uganda in 2005. Emmanuel is an advocate of the High Court of South Sudan and all Courts subordinate thereto. He is a member of the South Sudan Bar Association (SSBA). Prior to Co-Founding the firm, he has had a long stretched work experience of over 10 years in the NGO sector having worked with several organizations ranging from national and international organizations. He has also worked as an Associate with City Advocates and Associates, Juba South Sudan. As such, he comes on board with a wealth of experience in both the NGO world as a legal consultant and also a senior legal practitioner in the Republic of South Sudan. Emmanuel has speciality in advising NGOs from incorporation, setup, organization/structuring, and all the relevant laws governing their operations in South Sudan. He also has experience of representing clients, both individual and corporates in Tribunals and Courts of Judicature ranging from the County Court to the High Courts of South Sudan. Additionally, he has a good grasp of Human Rights and International Humanitarian law having taught in the then SPLA Military Institute for Strategic Studies, from 2002 to 2005 as a volunteer tutor. During his various engagements with the NGO sector, Emmanuel has also conducted numerous trainings for Judicial Officers and Court Support Staff throughout South Sudan, and undertaken successful legal consultancies on enormous topics in the humanitarian world. As such, he is endowed with the requisite knowledge, skills and experience necessary for the successful completion of tasks expeditiously. Emmanuel has recently been co-opted by the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs through a Ministerial Order to the Ministerial Taskforce mandated with the responsibility of drafting the Constitutional Making Process Bill, 2022 which has recently received a Presidential Assent and has become an Act of Parliament. As a member of the Taskforce of the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Emmanuel will continue to participate in the drafting of the Bill on the establishment of the Commission for Truth, Reconciliation and Healing (CTRH) as well as the Bill for the establishment of the Compensation and Reparation Commission. This makes him an expert in Constitutional making process and Constitutional Law generally. Emmanuel heads the Corporate and Commercial Department of the firm.
